Urs, Andre, Emma, Rob, David, Rose and world-roaming trombonist Jonathan will play two sets of an eclectic mix of lively klezmer tunes, Sephardic Ladino love songs, sad slice-of-life story-songs from the ‘old country’, and some of their quirky originals and classic tuchas-shaking authentic klezmer dance tunes.

Rebs big weekend in wellington

It was a big weekend for the Klezmer Rebs. Welcoming Urs from Taranaki, Emma from Auckland and Amanda from Gisborne we navigated CubaDupa’s thousands and played a lively set Saturday at Hannah’s Courtyard, followed by a 45 minute roam through the Cuba district spreading klezmer joy! What a wonderful reception on the streets! Then Sunday we performed a special one off concert at Futuna Chapel where we were able to play some delicate and beautiful melodies in a resonant space. Here are some fotos from the gigs.
